Hi all! This is just a quick post to announce that I have successfully completed a free course on HTML and CSS (both are computer languages used to create homepages) provided by Free Code Camp! The course, titled “Responsive Web Design”, is said to take 300 hours to complete. I have been working at it a little at a time for about a month. I completed the study content about a week ago and have been working on the five final assignments over the last few days. And finally, today, I completed it!

HTML and CSS are the two fundamental programing languages that practically every web page is made from! (JavaScript would be the third prominent language, I think?) Though neither of these languages were new to me, taking a course (and completing it!) has been refreshing. Many programming courses are centered around language syntax and grammar and lack practical purpose, other than enabling the student to use a new language. This course was centered around web accessibility and responsive design right from the outset, giving a practical overtown to the course. Even when a particular study topic was about basic syntax and grammar, the course would often give a practical application of that in an accessibility or responsiveness scenario. I found this to be a big plus for the course!

So, if you are interested in programming, go ahead and give this course a try! If you’ve used FreeCodeCamp before, let me know what your thoughts were.
