The work and life of a Community Education Manager in Japan

Ben's profile picture

Hi! I’m Ben, or B-san. I work at Automattic, as a Community Education Manager in the open-source WordPress project.

I’m a Christian, a husband, and a “father” to an adorable puppy Forte. I was born in Australia, but have lived pretty much my whole life in Japan.

This blog is a space where I share personal events happening in my life. My Treasure Box series is a collection of particularly special memories I’m keeping a record of so that I can come back and reflect on in future.

Thanks for stopping by!

    Creating a Playlist

Hi everyone! In my post Testing “Shortcode” and Other Embedding Methods, I tried adding a playlist, only to realize I need a paid plan with WordPress.com to do that. I then said… This site is on the free plan, so I will come back to that another day. I have an idea, a legitimate workaround… […]

    Delivering Happiness – Part 2

Hi all! This is a continuation to my last post, “Delivering Happiness – Part 1“. It is a small book review of the book with the same title, by Inghilleri and Solomon. Again, I will try to keep this short and concise, listing only a few other points that stood out from the book. Delivering […]

In this post, I will do a similar thing with another book I was recommended to read, “Delivering Happiness” by Tony Hsieh. Testing “Shortcode” and Other Embedding Methods

Hi again! In my last post (Thank You To My 25 Followers!), I used some WordPress.com shortcode to add excerpts of previous posts on my blog. Today in this post, I’m going to try out some other Shortcodes and see what they can do! Videos WordPress.com offers video embedding for many different services including Vimeo, TED Talks and YouTube. Each […]

  • My First Post by Email!

Surprise!! A post two days in a row! ?? This is a short post, testing the "Post by Email" feature of WordPress.com. What I have done is I have written this post as an email, sent it to a "secret" email address linked to my blog and that has automatically created a post for me. […]
